Always busy? feeling your health and fitness is on the back burner? check out our 6 tips to help get you back on track and feeling amazing!

This article is not to make you feel guilty, it is to discuss the ever-growing responsibilities we have, especially in midlife or as a new mum/parent.

Let’s look at the why this could be happening

New mums have just had their world changed overnight, the struggle of sleepless nights, potentially unsettled babies, unexpected changes in their bodies along with never feeling like you have time to shower let alone exercise. More often than not for most, the very thought of driving to a venue after finding childcare, spending a whole hour of your time that you could be catching up on sleep, exercising to then drive home again to carry on usually at night when you are tired anyway makes you feel overwhelmed and anxious.

On the other side you have midlife, your children may be older, but you seem just as busy but in a different way, perhaps its looking after aging parents, listening to the emotional troubles of the older children and trying to help them find their way in the world, or perhaps taking care of grandchildren. All of that alongside trying to work full time, pay a mortgage and bills and find time for all this stress management you should be doing as it is not good to be stressed, seems almost impossible right?

6 tips to get back on track

It truly is tough to find time, we get this, and we have some advice for you.

  1. Don’t set big goals, you don’t need an hour.
  2. Work out what you like doing, there is no point running if you absolutely hate it as you won’t stick to it, you need long term options.
  3. Look for classes online like ours, we run 13 classes a week via zoom so you don’t need to leave your house which saves travelling time, we are also very used to babies, toddlers and pets at our classes so you can do it at time that suits you better.
  4. Allocate the same time everyday if you want to get into your meditation and stick to it, it helps you get into a routine quicker. A calmer mind helps you think clearer.
  5. Create boundaries for your loved ones, YOU ARE ALLOWED TIME FOR YOU! It will enable you to stay calm and manage your emotions better.
  6. Stop feeling guilty, you are doing the best you can with the resources, support and emotional bandwidth you have so remind yourself every now and again how great you are.

You have got this, just speak kindly to yourself and take on one task at a time.
